My deepest condolences to Bob's family and friends. He was a wonderful friend and my favorite volunteer here at Children's Mercy. I have been greeted by his smiling face since 2004 and will sincerely miss chatting with POB (poor 'ol Bob he would jokingly call himself because he has such a great life).
Sincerely,
Leslie Cromwell

I first met Bob when he moved to my neighborhood in 2005. We started talking out on the sidewalk when we would see each other going to the mail box. We talked about many things but the most interesting would be when we talked about our experience in the Military. I tried to convince him that I had it worse in the Army than he did in the Air Force. Neither of us convinced the other. Bob was my friend.

My heart goes out to everyone in Bob’s beloved family, his friends and his volunteer family at Children’s Mercy Hospital. I can’t forgot how proud he was of his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments, his joy at visiting San Diego for his grandson, spending time with his accomplished daughters and granddaughters. I volunteered with him for years and adored him for his quiet ethic of public service but in the best spirit of mischief and humor. We were so very fortunate that he chose to donate so much time to helping the families and patients at Children’s Mercy. What a wonderful gift to us was Bob! Cecelia McNair
