I worked with Greg at IBM. Greg's style is something I still try to pull from all the time in my career when helping others--it was always from a place of warmth and a calm, funny and almost whimsical understanding that you don't see too often in this world, especially from engineers. I've since realized, that's the mark of the best kind of professional. Whenever working with Greg on a project, I always walked away with more than I knew before, and usually laughing a little bit, too. One other thing I'll never forget is how even in his later years, when it was time to get hands-on with often large pieces of customer equipment with the team...Greg would transform, getting up and down with an extra bounce of energy and start moving like 25-year old to make sure the job was done right.

Greg was an original, and it was a privilege to learn and grow from him. Thank you, Greg. Prayers and best wishes to the whole family.

I’m not sure where to begin as I’m still in shock and so sad to hear about Greg.

I was one of Greg’s coworkers at IBM and a friend. I have known Greg for close to 30 years and he was one of those people that made a lasting impression on me from the first day I met him. We had many fun (and not so fun) work trips together and regardless of the situation Greg always stayed focus and dedicated to getting things done. I know he was the same way with his family and we had many talks about our wives (all good of course), kids and more recently about grandchildren. You could tell Greg cared a lot for his family, I heard so much about Cherie and Tracie (horse riding) and more recently, his granddaughter was one of Greg’s latest pride and joys. Even though I know Greg was NOT ready to retire, I’m so glad he did as it gave him some additional time to spend at home.

For me, Greg was a colleague, a friend, a trusted advisor, and someone that I am so glad I had the time and privilege to spend time with. I learned so much from him over the years and will always have a place for him in my heart. To Cherie, Tracie, and Harper I can’t express how sorry I am and if there is anything that we can ever do for you please let me know.

Condolences to Greg's family. I will definitely be praying for all of you!

I am a fellow IBM employee and knew Greg since the mid 1990s when we met in Tulsa in the support of a customer there. I liked Greg from the moment I met him! He was fun to work with and I LOVED his sense of humor and his "get it done" attitude. He is at the top of my very short list of favorite people to work with. Although I never got to meet the family, I have heard lots of great stories from him about all of you. When we used to work regularly together, it was fun to get updates from him about you. He was a great person, and I know he was a great husband and awesome dad. He WILL be missed.
