Obituary

Billy R. Vickery, a gentle, loving soul, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Independence, Missouri. He was 85. Billy was born on January 9, 1935 to Glen and Anne Vickery in Clifton Hills, Missouri.
He was a simple man yet loved to learn and expand his knowledge as often as he could. After graduating from East High School in Kansas City, Missouri he took several courses at Missouri University and Junior College. It was there he met the love of his life and best friend Barbara Raynard. They were quickly married in Mission, Kansas in 1967. Billy was an explorer. He enjoyed traveling all around North America making his way to every single state and hiking in the highest trails along the way. Bill and his son Eric were able to create many wonderful memories during his time as a cubscout and boyscout leader. He led the troops for 10yrs. Billy also spent much of his time serving in clubs such as the Scottish Rite, the Shrine Temple and the Masonic Lodge in Independence, Missouri. As he got older Billy found pleasure in the simple things of life such as playing bridge, reading and doing yardwork. He will be missed dearly.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife Barbara; his son, Eric Vickery and wife Shari; grandson, Luke Vickery; granddaughters, Faith and Hope Vickery and brother Jay Krebs.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters.

Very sorry to hear about your father Eric. I didnt have many opportunities to talk with him back in our highschool days, but I know he was real good at being patient around us crazy teenage boys as we all hung out at your house. Prayers from the Willards are with your family old friend. May God help you find comfort and bring back many great memories of your dad to help you through your hardships.
